* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and central, north central, northeast, northwest, and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon Monday to 7 PM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While heat index values may not reach 105 each day, the combination of the longevity of the heat and little or limited relief during overnight periods have prompted the multi-day Heat Advisory.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Thank you all so much for making us your coffee spot today during the annual Leavenworth Charm Hunt and for being patient with our baristas. We can't thank Amanda and Mara enough for stepping up today while Ray had his big surgery this morning, and for Becca coming in the pm to help close things up. Ray is doing great and now has his recovery ahead of him. We pray that it will go just as well as his surgery has.
