Gwinnett County Courts hearings and trials are canceled on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27 due to inclement weather.
All first appearance hearings scheduled to be heard at the Gwinnett County Detention Center will be held as scheduled.

9/26 UPDATE: Due to the impending inclement weather, all Gwinnett County Government offices — with the exception of those required for the comfort and safety of residents — will be closed Friday, September 27.

Find a full list of closures and service changes at GwinnettCounty.com/Helene.

Gwinnett County Courts hearings and trials are canceled on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27 due to inclement weather. All first appearance hearings scheduled to be heard at the Gwinnett County Detention Center will be held as scheduled.

All Gwinnett Tax Commissioner offices will close early at 3:00pm on Thursday, September 26 and will be closed on Friday, September 27.

Ride Gwinnett will adjust its afternoon commuter service for Thursday, September 26. Commuter routes 101, 102, 103, 103A, and 110 will operate on limited schedules. There will be no Ride Gwinnett commuter, local, paratransit, or microtransit service Friday, September 27.

All Health and Human Services senior centers will be closed on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27.

All Gwinnett Parks and Recreation natural surface fields and trails will be closed Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27.

Follow Gwinnett County Police and Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services for public safety updates throughout the storm. Find updates on local school closures from Gwinnett County Public Schools and Buford City Schools.

FULL TIME MAGISTRATE APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED
Gwinnett County Chief Magistrate Kristina Hammer Blum is now accepting applications to fill a full time Magistrate position.
To meet the minimum legal qualifications, each Applicant must:
• be at least 30 years of age; and
• have been a citizen of the State of Georgia for at least three (3) years; and
• have been a member, in good standing, of the State Bar of Georgia for at least seven (7) years; and
• Be a registered voter; and
• Have been a resident of Gwinnett County for two years next preceding the beginning of his or her term of office
To be eligible for consideration, a completed Application Package must be received by the Administrative Office of the Courts on or before 12:00 PM on February 6, 2023. Each Applicant must complete the following. Email one electronic (PDF) copy of your entire application package to [email protected] AND submit thirteen (13) unbound, 3-hole punched, copies of the Application Package, which consists of the following: resume with cover letter; completed Magistrate Court Application & Questionnaire; signed Authorization Form; completed Judicial Ethics Quiz and writing sample. The writing sample should be a motion, brief, proposed order, or other substantive pleading authored solely by the candidate and which accurately reflects the candidate’s legal research and writing skills. Even if you have applied in the past, you must submit a new Application Package to be considered.

Hard copies may be obtained during normal business hours from the Court Administrator’s Office, located on the third floor of the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Building.
