After Five Desserts are "Grown Folks" desserts.. The majority of my desserts are alcohol infused cakes and cupcakes that full of flavor and very moist.

My father Arthur Jones was a great cook. He served in the Navy as a cook and I always enjoyed watching him make fabulous meals for the family on his off days. He never measured any ingredients..it was always by smell and texture with him which always amazed me. I lost my father when I was fifteen, but my memories in the kitchen and watching Raiders football with him will always be in my heart. I carried on the tradition of cooking meals for friends that didn’t have families around the area, friends and family who were ill and those who just loved food and great conversation.
One year when I was working in San Francisco, there was this co-worker who just loved hamburgers. So every Friday, she would treat herself to a gourmet hamburger. Her birthday was coming up in the next month and I wanted to do something very special for her so I decided to make her a cake that looked like a hamburger.
After four hours of figuring out putting it all together, came this master piece. Her facial expression when she saw that cake made me feel so good and every since then I started making desserts for people just to see the smiles on their faces.
I decided if I was going to focus more on deserts. I wanted it to be unique and geared towards grown folks. So I decided to create alcohol infused cakes, cupcakes and cake pops using organic ingredients, cage-free eggs and only top-shelf alcohol. Hence, the name After Five Desserts. I also make alcohol free desserts and cater small dinner parties.
