One of our favorite ways to use sourdough sandwich bread is to make these DELICIOUS, super simple croutons!

Cube into bite sized pieces, spray with olive oil and coat liberally with Italian herb seasoning and a sprinkle of salt.

I like to crisp them in a pan just until the outside is done but the inside is still soft and chewy. You could also use the oven or an air frier!

I am truly overwhelmed by the love, encouragement, prayers, and messages you all shared after my post yesterday.

To be honest, sharing something so personal wasn’t easy, but your kindness and support have meant more to me than I can adequately put into words. I’ve read every comment and message, and many of them brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you for walking alongside me through both the joyful seasons and the difficult ones. This little bakery has always been about more than bread—it has been about community, and yesterday you reminded me just how blessed I am to be part of such an incredible one.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, and your continued support of both my bakery and my health journey. I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️

Friends,

I wanted to give you an update on the bakery.

For those who may be new here, I received a kidney transplant in October. Unfortunately, the disease that originally caused my kidney failure has shown signs of recurring. Because of this, I’ll need to step away from baking for the next few weeks while I undergo treatment three days a week.

This isn’t the news I was hoping to share, and taking a break from serving this community is incredibly difficult. My hope is that treatment is successful and I’ll be back in the kitchen soon, but for now I need to take things one step at a time. I truly love feeding your families and being a small part of your tables each week!

I do plan to continue baking items as I’m able and will offer them here on my page so keep an eye out!

I would really appreciate your prayers. I am trusting that this season is only temporary. Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. It means more than you know 🙏🏼💖

🌾 With so many new faces here lately, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself! 🤎

I’m Heather, owner and baker of RISE at Easton Homestead. My passion is creating wholesome, handcrafted baked goods using traditional methods and real ingredients.

I believe great baking starts long before a loaf comes out of the oven.

Every product I make, from artisan sourdough breads to cookies, scones, sweet rolls, and other treats, contains freshly milled flour from locally grown, organically raised grains. Instead of relying on flour that may have been milled months ago, I grind grain fresh for each bake, preserving both flavor and nutrition.

My sourdough doughs are then slowly fermented for 36–42 hours, allowing them to fully develop the flavor, structure, and digestibility that traditional sourdough is known for.

I also believe that quality ingredients matter. You’ll find real butter, local honey, fresh-ground spices, wholesome grains, and carefully sourced ingredients throughout my menu.

The result is food that’s both nourishing and delicious—whether you’re enjoying a slice of sourdough toast, a warm scone, or a sweet treat with your afternoon coffee.

Fresh-milled grains. Long fermentation. Real ingredients. Old-fashioned baking.

I’d love to bake for you and your family this week. Check out my menu:

The menu is LIVE! 🎉

Thank you all so much for your prayers and patience. It means so much to me 🥰

My procedure went well, and while I’m still taking things one step at a time, I’m feeling good and excited to get back into the kitchen and bake for you all this week!

The menu is now open, so be sure to hop over and place your order. I can’t wait to fill the bakery with the smell of fresh bread again this week.

Thank you for supporting my little homestead bakery!

A quick schedule update for you all 💛

Normally, the weekly menu launches on Friday mornings. However, I have a medical procedure scheduled for Friday and there is a possibility that recovery and/or treatment may affect my baking schedule for next week.

Because of that uncertainty, I’ll be delaying this week’s menu launch until I have a clearer picture of what the coming week will look like.

I appreciate your patience, support, and prayers more than you know. I’ll keep everyone updated as soon as I know more. 🫶

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be closed this coming week - Memorial Day Week 🇺🇸

Honestly… my body made this decision for me 😅

Yesterday during my bake, I dropped a very heavy bowl with a 6lb chicken - in a gallon of brine, I might add - directly on my big toe (which may or may not be broken 🙃). The lid popped off and then, in perfect Heather fashion, I slipped in the water and somehow managed to do a full split that my body has absolutely never been capable of doing voluntarily.

The landing was not graceful 🤦🏽‍♀️

Between that disaster, and medical procedures for my dad AND myself this week, I’m going to take the week to rest and recover a bit.

My next menu will launch on May 29th, and I’m hoping to return with all bones and muscles functioning normally again 😂

Thank you all so much for your support and understanding! I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day with your family❤️🤍💙
