We're at the market with kolaczki, tortes, and beigli until 2pm at Meridian Township Farmer's Market! I had to grab on of these amazing Serbian rolled pies from Andi's Nom for lunch. The chicken and potato is out of this world good!

New cakes for the Meridian Township Farmer's Market in the Meridian Mall Saturday March 21st: poppyseed roll, walnut roll, and blueberry struesel. I'll also have (vegan) Maple Pear, Coffee Walnut, and Chocolate Rum tortes as well as apricot kolaczki and mixed boxes of strawberry and rosehip kolaczki.

If you're wondering, "What makes eastern European baking any different from other baking?" 😂 BTW I only use sour cream that is made from cream and enzymes and nothing else. It's amazing how much unnecessary filler people put in sour cream just to end up with a product that doesn't taste as good and separates with heat.

New dessert line on the menu for Meridian Farmer's Market this Saturday (February 21st)! I will also be at the market March 21st and April 18th. I am taking a break the month of May, and I will be happy to see you all again in June. There are now 5 old-world style tortes to go with the kołaczki you know and love :)

This Maple Pear Torte is the vegan option, which none of my testers guessed was vegan! Of course, my dad had to be the smart one and say, "I don't know- I could tell there was no meat in this." 😂

I will also have a Rigójansci- Inspired Double Chocolate Torte, Honey Walnut Torte, Walnut Coffee Torte, and a made-without-gluten (not celiac/allergy safe) Chocolate Poppyseed Torte.

Beigli (Hungarian word for one type of poppyseed or nut roll) is notoriously difficult to make without it splitting or cracking. I found this Hungarian meme about it today, which says,

"[My beigli] has never cracked! What's my secret?

I have never baked in my life."

I am very thankful to have an inbox full of folks asking about Holiday cookies. I am happy that all of you thought to reach out to me for your treats, but I will not be at another event until January 17th at the Meridian Township Farmers' Market

I am a home baker with a full time job outside of the bakery, and my husband and I just bought a house that we are moving into next week.

I am honored that you thought to ask me about your family's holiday desserts!

Come see me at Old Town Krampusnacht this Saturday 4pm-9pm. I'll have rosettes, Hungarian cherry pie slices, kolaczki, and these home-made, hand-painted springerle and gingerbread. Live music, lots of vendors, and a fantastic Krampus Parade!
