Today I received an email from a mother whose son passed away last July.

She told me he stayed loyal to our drums. That she found old emails while managing his estate. That she will treasure the photos of him sitting behind his kit.

He started playing when he was 7 years old. His stepdad bought him his first set.

There’s something about that that stopped me.

You never know how you’re going to touch someone’s life. You build something, you ship it out into the world… and somewhere a kid falls in love with music.

This post isn’t about my company. It’s about a young man who loved to play. And about a mother who is carrying a loss no parent should ever have to carry.

If you’re a parent — take the picture.
If you’re a player — keep playing.
And if you love someone — tell them.
