You might be familiar with Lander's Wings & Wheels Fly-In, but this year the event is taking place at the Riverton Regional Airport. We encourage our community to head to Riverton on Saturday, August 22, to enjoy this longtime favorite aviation event and continue supporting general aviation in Fremont County.

✈️ Riverton Fly-In & Airport Day ✈️

The City of Riverton invites you to a fun-filled day celebrating aviation, community, and family fun! Explore aircraft up close, meet local pilots, enjoy food trucks, and take part in activities for all ages.

Sign-ups for the Young Eagles Rally will be available during the Fly-In on August 22. Flights will take place in Riverton on August 23 and in Lander on Sunday, August 30.

Whether you're an aviation enthusiast or simply looking for a fun day out with the family, we hope you'll join us in supporting this great regional event. Feel free to share this post and help spread the word!

School Zone Safety Improvements Coming Soon

Over the next week, residents will see several improvements to school zones and school routes throughout the community designed to increase pedestrian safety and help calm traffic in busy areas.

Thermoplastic crosswalks will be added to eight crosswalks near schools. These highly visible crosswalks are more durable and longer-lasting than traditional painted crosswalks, helping improve visibility for both drivers and pedestrians.

Additional traffic-calming improvements will also be made near Baldwin Creek Elementary and Lander Middle School, including:

Smith Street at Academic Way: Stop signs will be installed on Smith Street to improve traffic control at the intersection.
North 8th Street at Clinchard Street: Two stop signs will be added to North 8th Street to improve safety and help slow traffic through the area.

These improvements are intended to create safer, more pedestrian-friendly school zones for students, families, and the entire community.

Please use extra caution when driving through school zones, follow all posted signs, and remain alert for pedestrians.
