Every weekend I challenge myself to bake something that helps me grow as a baker.

This week, it’s sourdough.

I’ve been refining this recipe loaf by loaf, learning something new with every bake. Watching a simple mixture of flour, water, salt, and time turn into something this beautiful is one of my favorite parts of baking.

This weekend's bake is here…

Brown Butter Banana Caramel Cinnamon Rolls 🍌

Made from scratch with:
✨ Brown butter brioche dough
✨ Roasted bananas
✨ Homemade vanilla soak glaze
✨ Toasted Vanilla buttercream
✨ Homemade salted caramel
✨ Finished with flaky sea salt

Every roll was baked fresh this morning in my home bakery and made in a small batch.

There’s something so comforting about warm cinnamon rolls and a fresh cup of coffee on a Saturday morning, and I hope these bring a little bit of that feeling to your weekend.

Weekend Bake with Purely Sweets | Episode 2 💗

This weekend’s bake was Raspberry White Chocolate Scones.

Every recipe teaches me something, and this one reminded me why I love baking from scratch. Fresh raspberries, white chocolate, vanilla bean, and buttery layers finished with a raspberry glaze, whipped vanilla buttercream, raspberry compote, and freeze-dried raspberries.

I think these are just the beginning… One of my favorite parts of baking is that there’s always something new to learn. I already have ideas to make the next batch even better.😊

Weekend Bake with Purely Sweets 🍑

This weekend’s bake might be my favorite one yet…

These Brown Butter Peach Cobbler Cinnamon Rolls are made with an overnight brioche dough for an unbelievably soft, fluffy texture. They’re filled with homemade peach compote and cinnamon sugar, then finished with brown butter buttercream and a buttery cobbler crumble.

✨ Weekend Bake with Purely Sweets ✨

Yesterday, this was just dough.

After an overnight proof, fresh blueberries, bright lemon curd, and a slow bake, it became one of my favorite things to make.

The crispy, olive oil-kissed edges…
The soft, airy sourdough crumb…
The burst of sweet blueberries and tart lemon in every bite…

This is why I love baking.

Now I have to ask…

✨ Weekend Bake with Purely Sweets | Episode 1 ✨

This weekend’s bake was all about sourdough focaccia.

One sweet.
One savory.
Both made from the same homemade sourdough starter and slowly fermented overnight because the best things can’t be rushed.

There’s something so satisfying about watching simple ingredients transform into golden, fluffy focaccia with a crisp, olive oil-kissed crust.

Weekend Bake with Purely Sweets 🍞

Good bread can’t be rushed.

Tonight was all about stretch and folds before the dough settled in for its overnight proof.

Tomorrow morning we’ll dimple, top, bake, and (hopefully) get that golden, crispy crust we all love.
