The Cookie Pharmacy To share my love of baking cookies with others. These are small batch, from scratch, homemade with love in my kitchen. Simple goodness It’s why I keep baking.

The Greek have a word to describe what happens when I bake cookies, it’s called Meraki (may-rah-kee)- it means doing something with passion, love, soul. Leaving the essence of yourself in your work. That’s what baking cookies has always been for me. When the world seems chaotic, stressful, and doesn’t make sense I grab a bowl and a spoon and whip up a batch of cookies. For years’ friends, family,

and even folks who have just met me have been enjoying my homemade-from scratch-cookies. I love the smile on someone’s face when they bite into a cookie I’ve made and I know they are enjoying the minute of happiness my baked goodie shared with them. I began bagging my cookies in ‘pharmacy’ bags. It started out as a fun way to treat a friend or cheer someone up and make them laugh by writing a “prescription” or an ‘Rx’ on the front of the bag. Such as Rx: ‘eat, smile, repeat as needed’, Rx: ‘To heal a sad heart, eat cookies’, Rx: ‘Stuff cookie in mouth, sing Happy Birthday, smile’ And so The Cookie Pharmacy was born. As the Oracle character in the movie The Matrix says to Neo “Here, take a cookie. I promise by the time you’re done eating it you’ll feel right as rain”. So too do I share the theory that one cannot eat a delicious homemade cookie and be unhappy at the same time. I know that many don’t have time to bake or haven’t had the experience of growing up with home baked goodies. I want to share my love of baking cookies for others. The same methods mom or grandma used. Simple goodness.
