Today is Earth Day! So a hiking we went. It was a great hike to Lake 22!
I got thinking 🤔, we say "life is a journey " but really I think life is a hike 🚶♂️!
1. We have our ups and downs, just like the terrain on a hike. Life isn't always easy. We struggle, we succeed and we continue on the hike.
2. When we hike we spend a lot of time looking down at our feet so we don't trip but that keeps us from looking up at all the beauty around us. We miss the trees opening up to see the view of the mountain tops or the waterfalls in the distance. In life we get stuck in our habitual ways that we miss the blessings around us. We miss the things that bring us joy and happiness.
3. There is an end to our hike. And the top is BEAUTIFUL! When our hike of life ends we all can be in a beautiful place (heaven). When we believe that Jesus died on the cross ✝️, that he rose from the grave and when we repent and follow Jesus, we will one day enjoy the mansion built for us. I look forward to that, but until that chosen day comes I will look up and take in the beauty God created and continue on my hike.
