It has been a minute since I have shared anything here, so here's a little update.
A year ago we bought a new stove. It worked great for 3 months and the computer board went out and I couldn't use the oven. So we replaced the computer board. Worked great for another three months. Then it started having the same issue. I tried limping along and continued to take cookie orders until I realized my stove as a whole unit was not reliable enough for me to commit to orders.
So I actually turned away cookie orders for a while. I had a bunch of cookies to make at Christmas, and I struggled through it with an oven that was randomly shutting off mid-bake.
My husband looked up how to reprogram the stove and he had been messing with it for awhile.
I accepted one order for Easter and the customer supplied the cutter. I set a whole day aside just to bake 2 dozen peeps cookies. It shut off several times but I managed to get
the cookies baked.
In the meantime, a long time friend reached out and asked if I could ship cookies and if so, make baby shower cookies for her first grand baby. I was so excited I said yes and had not even remembered about the oven, which was still being cantankerous.
I orders the cutters, I planned the time, and then panicked because I remembered the oven. Bless my husband, I don't know what he did or how, but he kept working on my oven including trying to reprogram his computer.
And it worked. Whatever he did, I got through the baby shower order. Then a local requested Mother's Day cookies. I accepted the order cautiously. Still scared the oven would shut down.
It didn't.
Then a coworker and a friend requested graduation cookies, and I accepted both plus an order for Thank You cookies for nurses. I cautiously accepted their orders and am glad to say my oven continued to do it's job.
I've now completed Father's Day cookies, a very CUTE baby shower set, and July 4th cookies.
I am still going to limit how many orders I take at one time each month for now, but I am so glad my oven is working as it should now!
