This has been one of my favorite baking requests. Below is the email that I got from Mary's sister, Lisa, who ordered the cake.

"It’s here! It’s HERE! Mary is soooo excited. She wanted to eat it right away, but is waiting for the kids to get home from school and they’ll take a picture or two for her. She facetimed me to show me that it arrived in perfect condition, along with the sparkly scarf, her pin, and her card.

She was THRILLED! A little surprise goes a long way. Thank you again for making it happen! And for making her birthday a lot more fun."

And then when the kids got home.

"She and the kids added whipped cream and sprinkles. As you can see, she was tickled about it! She specifically said to tell you that it is DELICIOUS! Her kids agreed.

You and your cake turned around a less than stellar situation into a wonderful event. They’re taking a couple slices to the elderly neighbor next door too, so you’ve made several happy households with one cake.

Thank you again from all of us!"

Seminole Sweets is known in Boston! 😃

Early yesterday morning, I received an email request from a nice lady who lives outside of Boston, MA for a birthday cake for her sister who lives in Florida. Her sister is going through a tough time in her life and the requester wanted to do something special for her. While it was further than I could drive, I made, packaged, and shipped a Chocolate Ganache cake to overnight to a small town south of Sarasota within a few hours. I also got her a card and birthday extras to help make her day more special. I hope Mary has a lovely day and feels all the love from across the state and across the country. 💖💝🎂

I made apple strudel for the first time ever with so many layers of phyllo dough! It took a little bit to get used to working with the ultra delicate sheets, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Along with the apples, I added 1/2 cup of raisins and 1/4 cup copped nuts. Light, crispy, flakey, and loaded with flavor; SO GOOD!!! If you have special requests, don't hesitate to ask.
