This triple chocolate cake went out for a college grad party yesterday. It’s a triple layer chocolate cake filled and iced with chocolate buttercream, topped with chocolate ganache and then sprayed with glitter to make it celebratory! 🎉

This is the finished giraffe cake I made for a birthday last week. 🦒 I might only make giraffe cakes from now on. 😉

Graduation cupcakes that went out last weekend. These are funfetti which is a vanilla cake with sprinkles and lemon buttercream. We added blue sprinkles to match the school colors.

If you guessed that I was working on a giraffe cake last week, you were correct! It was a very involved process. The cake was stacked four layers high. It was filled and crumb coated with chocolate buttercream, and then I made a pale yellow vanilla buttercream to ice the cake. I hand cut the chocolate fondant for the spots, and bought flowers for adornment. The ears and horns had to be dried out in the oven overnight and adhered to skewers and lollipop sticks so that they would stay put once they were affixed to the cake. Stay tuned for the final reveal of the cake later this week. 🦒

Happy Mother’s Day! As an adoptive parent, I know this day can be complicated for many, including my own children. I think the very best we can do is give space to all of these feelings, and acknowledge them. I am so glad for my own mom who has been a huge champion and support of me. ❤️

Looking for a fun, celebratory cake or cupcake flavor? Funfetti is a vanilla cake with sprinkles mixed in. I think it is such a fun choice for parties, graduations, anything worthy of celebration! 🎉

I made this for a college graduation as well as my end-of-the-year department picnic. I iced them eventually, but this is what just the cake looks like.

I can still squeeze an order or two in for May if you are need a cake for your special celebration!

Update: The cake sold for $650! 🤩 Grateful for the generous bidders at the event tonight that help make this trip possible.

I just dropped this chocolate peanut butter beauty off at Immanuel Lutheran Church for the auction tonight! Come at 5pm for dinner and then bid on one of the delicious desserts to support a mission trip to South Dakota in July. Noah went last year and is going again this summer.

Cupcakes (or minis) are a great way to celebrate without the hassle of cutting a huge cake. 🧁 We can also match the cupcake wrappers to a party theme or future college colors. I just made cupcakes for a work event this past weekend, and they were a hit.
