We’ve got some exciting changes happening at our roadside stand! 🌿✨

We recently moved things around, and now we’re in the middle of building it up piece by piece. Over the next few weeks you’ll start seeing shelves go in, new setups take shape, and everything come together a little more each day.

It’s definitely a work in progress right now—but we kind of love that part. You get to see it grow right along with us. 💛

We’ll keep sharing updates as we go so you can follow along with the transformation. Can’t wait to show you the finished space (and all the goodies it’ll hold soon 👀🍞🥚🪴)!

Thanks for being part of this little journey with us!

🍩✨ Sourdough Discard Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts (Made from scratch goodness!) ✨🍩

I’m officially starting to share more of what’s coming out of my kitchen, and I couldn’t pick a better one to kick it off than these soft, fluffy cinnamon sugar doughnuts 😍

They’re made with sourdough discard, lightly sweet, perfectly golden, and rolled in cinnamon sugar while still warm… honestly dangerous in the best way.

Here’s how I’m making them today:

INGREDIENTS
• ½ cup warm milk
• 2 tbsp + ½ cup sugar (separated)
• 1 tsp active dry yeast
• ½ cup 100% hydration sourdough discard
• 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
• ½ tsp salt
• 3 tbsp melted butter
• 1 egg
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Warm milk (about 100–110°F). Stir in 2 tbsp sugar, yeast, and sourdough discard. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Mix in butter, egg, and vanilla.
3. Add flour and salt, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
4. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
5. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour (until doubled).
6. Roll dough to ½” thick and cut into doughnuts.
7. Let rise again for 45 minutes.
8. Fry in 350°F oil about 45 seconds per side until golden.
9. Toss warm doughnuts in cinnamon sugar and enjoy!

The tiny dinosaur phase has officially begun. 🐥😂
These chicks are learning real fast that they’re bigger than the brooder… and apparently personal space is no longer a thing.

That means it’s time to start getting the barn ready for their big move. Fresh bedding, bigger feeders, more room to roam, and all the cozy setup work begins now.

It’s bittersweet watching them outgrow the brooder, but seeing them feather out and thrive makes every late-night check and every bag of feed worth it. 🤎

Barn prep is officially underway at Gobblers K**b Acres.

Fresh bedding, full bellies, and happy peeps 🐥✨
The brooder got a full clean today and the babies are LOVING it. Nothing better than watching little chicks zoom around after a fresh reset 💛

Did you know fermented chicken feed can be a game changer for your flock? 🐓✨

We’ve been learning more about the benefits of fermenting feed, and it’s honestly pretty amazing how much it can improve overall chicken health while also helping reduce waste and feed costs.

Here are just a few benefits of fermented feed:

🌾 Better nutrient absorption
The fermentation process helps break down grains so chickens can absorb more vitamins and minerals from their feed.

🦠 Natural probiotics for gut health
Fermented feed introduces beneficial bacteria that support digestion and help protect against harmful pathogens.

💰 Less feed waste & lower costs
Because the feed expands when soaked, chickens often eat less while still feeling full — and there’s far less dusty feed being wasted.

🥚 Stronger eggs & healthier hens
Many chicken keepers notice stronger shells, healthier feathers, and improved egg quality overall.

💧 Extra hydration
Since the feed is soaked in water, it also helps keep flocks hydrated during both hot summers and cold winters.

🌱 Less smelly manure
Healthier digestion can even mean cleaner coops and less odor!

Fermenting feed is simple too:
Just soak your feed in water for 24–72 hours until it develops a slightly tangy smell. Whole grains, mash, and crumbles tend to work best.

Have you ever tried fermented feed for your flock? We’d love to hear your experience below! 👇🐔
