For those of you checking to see if Maura's Brazilian Grill will be operating at the upcoming Flea Fest, we regret to say that we will not be operating at Flea Fest in April of 2019. However, we plan to do all that we can to ensure that we will be back in November for the Fall Flea Fest. So look for us in November of 2019. We also sell our candies and pastries as Maura's Brazilian Treats, in addition to Brazliian handicrafts, at the Culture Fest in October 2019. We also plan to operate Maura's Brazilian Grill at Culture Fest, now that our son and daughter-in-law are here on a permanent basis. So, see you in the fall!

We are thinking of expanding to other venues. We will post here, if we do.

Maura's Brazilian Specialties will be at Culture Fest at the Lake Charles Civic Center on Saturday, October 20, 2018. We will displaying cultural items from Brazil and Guatemala.

Maura will be selling her Brazilian Treats, including: BOLO MOKA (Mocha Cake), BOLO DE MAQAXEIRA (MANIOC/CASSAVA CAKE), BOLO DE MILHO (CORN CAKE--similar to cornbread, but slightly sweeter, and with grated coconut), BRIGADEIROS (Fudge bon bons), COCADA (coconut bars), and perhaps BOM BONS DE CASTANHA DO PARA (Bon bons made from toasted Brazil nuts surrounded by caramelized sweetened, condensed milk and semi-sweet chocolate)!

We will also be selling handicraft items from Brazil, such as biojewels, handcrafted woven items, and the like.

Come see Culture Fest, and be sure to stop by our booth when you do. It takes place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Hey everyone--Maura's Brazilian Specialties will be at Flea Fest this weekend (Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30) at Burton Coliseum Rodeo Arena. We will be operating as Maura's Brazilian Grill in the Food Court. We will be serving espitinho (grilled meats and cheese on a spit), pastels (fried meat, and cheese, pies), and several of our sweets (mocha cake, brazil nut and coconut bon bons, and coconut squares--Brazil's version of pralines--except they use shredded coconut instead of pecans)

Hello Everyone! Thanks for visiting our page for Maura's Brazilian Specialties.

EVENT NOTICE: Maura's Brazilian Specialties will be selling our sweets and meat (and vegetarian) pies at the Charlestown Farmers Market in Downtown Lake Charles behind the 1912 courthouse (across Ryan from the current courthouse), from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on SATURDAY, JANUARY 14.

On Sunday, January 15, we will be at the LAFAYETTE JOCKEY LOT FLEA MARKET on the I-49 (Evangeline Thruway) access road 1/2 mile north of I-10--take the first exit off I-49 north after exiting I-10 at the north Evangeline Thruway(I-49) exit in Lafayette, LA. Once on I-49 north (to Oppalousas), turn left to go under the overpass, then take the first right after the off ramp coming off I-49 (don't turn onto the off ramp by mistake!...I have found myself almost doing it myself). The flea market is 1/2 mile north on the access road, on the left. We will be set up in the breezeway at the main entrance to the flea market (it connects sections 100 and 300).
