Life has been filled to the brim the last few months! Lots of work, lots of craziness, some baking, lots of fun, and lots of LOVE. So here’s a photo of some blueberry muffins I baked while back home in Iowa to share with family 🥹

CAKE!!! A humble 2 layer here with extra creamy whipped cream (it’s NOT frosting and we’re obsessed with it. Alex eats it straight from the bowl) layered in there with raspberry jam in the middle and on top because MORE IS BETTER for this one!

- 2 layers of yellow cake ( recipe for classic birthday cake)
- Homemade raspberry jam (keep it a lil saucy cuz we like it saucy up in here)
- Extra creamy whipped cream (recipe from in The Book on Pie - TRY THIS ASAP!!!)

A fresh loaf of banana bread completes our cozy vibes on a blustery, damp PNW Sunday. In fact, I think this could be classified as the Danish term hygge -> go google this if you aren’t familiar! It has long been one of my favorite parts of winter even before I knew the term!

No recipe credits here other than my classic banana bread with a few tweaks:
> whole milk (didn’t have buttermilk and wasn’t feeling like adding a step to make it)
> whole wheat (more of a nutty flavor)
> vanilla & cinnamon (extra coziness)
> browned butter (even more coziness)

We are currently curled up on the couch with Teddy between us, reading our books, and each with a warm slice of buttered banana bread and mugs of coffee. Very PNW and very hygge. Wishing everyone a cozy Sunday :)

A post dedicated to the mini tester biscuit because this fella is (ahem, was) just TOO CUTE!

I’ve found my go to buttermilk biscuit recipe thanks to and ! Highly recommend!!! We made these to have with Alex’s homemade gravy and marionberry jam. DELISH!

Cheers to the end of a very busy, full of love, and an extra wonderful holiday season! I’m going into this new year feeling full of gratitude and love 🤍

All of the holiday decorations are put away and this cake is all gone - both after being thoroughly enjoyed. AND I baked this Gingerbread Bundt cake (recipe from ) TWICE in two weeks! TWO cakes gone!! The first disappeared at a holiday party and the second was shared with family for my dad’s birthday and Christmas! Now that’s what I call some freshly baked joy!

Homemade Samoa Cookies! With homemade dulce de leche for the caramel layer & coconut! Because why not be a lil extra for the holidays!

Sugar cookie base
Toasted coconut flakes
Homemade caramel (tried the sweetened condensed milk trick and it’s awesome!)
Melted dark chocolate (for the base & top drizzle)
Finished with some flaky
