Adventures in bread baking…I need to knead it more (for my liking) than the recipe states and I should work on my scoring. Overall it’s a decent beginner loaf

Celebrated a very special birthday last week with this cake. First time attempting a filling inside! It came out very nice although it was messy to cut! Frosting was a bit stiff but I think it worked out in the long run. I think I’ll call this one my Chocolate covered Strawberry Cake. Chocolate cake with a strawberry pie filling and a layer of melting chocolate for a bit of texture.

Late post alert! I made this cake for my partner for their birthday and it was amazing! Everyone loved it! I used my chocolate cake recipe and replaced some of the milk with coffee and my buttercream recipe and substituted the caramel sauce instead of vanilla. It was a hit! And it’s gluten free.

Well I did some baking for the holidays this year. I made my cranberry cake I’ve made the past few years but forgot to get a picture for comparison. He’s missing a button in the first picture. But I’d say my snowman ⛄️ went over well at the office potluck! I whipped him together last minute the night before. He was very tasty but I think people were afraid to eat the head from his body!! 😂

Haven’t made a cake in a while…why not make one for my best friends little one.
Interesting side story: she had her party the same place I had my sixth birthday.

It’s been a while since I’ve baked anything 😔 I could blame it on life and my depression and various life changes. Honestly, while I wanted to bake I just couldn’t make myself. It was hard even to cook for myself.
I’m challenging myself to try a new recipe every week! Or close to every week depending on if people get sick of it and I don’t have anyone to feed my creations to or I can’t afford a new recipe that week. I want to be an all around baker instead of just a cake baker.
We will see how this goes 😬
