Your hens’ eggs can give you clues about their nutrition, environment and overall health. If you notice something unusual, start with a few simple checks:
1️⃣Review their nutrition. Make sure hens have continuous access to a complete layer feed, and avoid overdoing treats or scratch grains.
2️⃣Check feed and water access. Fresh, clean water is essential, and even short periods of dehydration can affect feed intake and egg production.
3️⃣Think about recent changes. Heat, shorter daylight hours, new flock members, predators or other sources of stress can all impact laying.
