As some of you may know, our home flooded about a month ago. It’s been a lot behind the scenes to say the least! Navigating the unexpected.. and now finally stepping into the reconstruction phase. We are so grateful to be moving forward, but it does come with a lot of mess, moving parts, and a full plate for our family right now.

With that, and my birthday falling on the last weekend of April 🤗 I’m choosing to take this time to be present, reset a bit, and enjoy a small moment of celebration after a heavy season.

So for now, I’ll be taking a pause from baking for the remainder of this month. Bread will be back and available the first weekend of May, and I truly can’t wait to get flour on my hands again and fill your homes with fresh loaves!

In the meantime, if you’re needing your sourdough fix, I’m so lucky to be part of a community of incredibly talented local bakers who would love to take care of you 💛

Thank you, always, for your support, your patience, and for continuing to show up for my little business. It means more than I can put into words. I’m looking forward to baking for you again very soon.

XOXO, Julia 💛

The good. The bad. The moments in between. All of it matters.

There is a kind of beauty in the mundane when you realize none of it is wasted. Every tear, every prayer whispered under your breath, every laugh around the table.. He sees it all.

Christ didn’t endure what he did and rise again for the perfect, the polished, or the put together. He came for all of us. There was no fine print, no exclusivity.. just grace freely given.

And somehow, in the middle of the chaos and the calm, we’re held. Fully known. Deeply loved. Endlessly pursued.

Today I’m grateful for all of it. The trials that shaped me, the years and experiences that softened me, and the quiet reminders that I was never walking through any of it alone.

He is risen ✝️

A reminder to slow down, appreciate the mundane and do things that bring you joy 🌿

Your sourdough discard doesn’t always have to become pancakes or crackers or even the trash.. it can also benefit your garden!

Sourdough discard contains wild yeast, beneficial bacteria, and fermentation byproducts that can support the microbial life in your soil. Healthy soil microbes help break down organic matter and nutrients so plants can absorb them more easily. When the soil ecosystem is thriving, plants often grow stronger and more resilient 💪🏻

The key is dilution. Straight discard is too acidic and thick, but when you mix a small amount into water it becomes a gentle microbial boost for the soil.

How I use it:
• Add 1–2 tablespoons of sourdough discard to a jar
• Fill the rest with water and mix well
• Water the soil around plants, not directly on the leaves. Although as you can see… I’m not the best at following that part 🤭🤣

It’s a simple way to reduce kitchen waste and keep the natural sourdough cycle going. From starter, to bread, and back to the earth 😌

Bread for the table, life for the garden. 🌾🍞🌱

Anywho, crumb back soon and go bake something. Bye 🫶🏻
