Half Dollar Holler For us, bread is more than food, we find it fulfilling spiritually as well as physically. So Why Bread? Well, we love bread, always have. We’ve never stopped.

We love breaking bread, not only with those we sit down with, but with those who enjoy it in their own time and place and we hope you will enjoy it too. Of all the things out there to make, why did we choose bread? Carlene grew up on my mother’s fresh homemade bread and took particular pride in her award winning rye. She learned to bake bread with her mother at an early enough age that she can’t e

ven date it. Tony grew up with the rich aromas of Cajun and Italian cooking and loved bread, which went wonderfully with everything. As a teenager he decided to learn more about making bread on his own. By the time we met at college he was known amongst his friends for the bread he would provide at gatherings. Our first official date was Thanksgiving, 1984. We were invited to a Thanksgiving dinner for theatre folks with no family locally. That whole day was spent together, baking different kinds of bread to take to the dinner. Over the years we’ve experimented and added to the kinds of bread we make and for over a decade, as we traveled to visit friends and family, we came prepared to make, the much hoped for, cheese bread. I have no idea how many times we heard, “You know, you should go into business with this.” So – now we have! For us, bread is more than food, more than healthy and filling. We find it fulfilling spiritually as well as physically. We love breaking bread, not only with those we sit down with, but with all those who enjoy it in their own time and place.
