Hi Friends!

After much consideration I have decided to no longer do the farmers market.

It is just not something I am able to keep up with while also working full time. Sundays are just a better day for me to fulfill bigger orders.

If you would like to pick up on a weekday or a Saturday, please message me and we will see what we can work out.

Having to prep so much throughout the work week to have goods ready to go Saturday morning for the market was hindering my ability to offer a variety.

When I started The Carb Dealer my vision was to have a little set-up outside of my home for weekly pickups for my community. The market was a way for me to get the word out, which I will still continue to do, just in other ways. 🙂

Eventually that vision of having a set up outside will happen but with the current heat we are experiencing, I would much rather just have you guys call or text when you are here and I’ll bring them out to you. We don’t want any chocolate chips melting or any breads sweating in this heat!

Thank you to everyone who continues to come back, I appreciate you all!

Happy Fathers Day Friends!!

Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful Sunday and celebrating the wonderful Fathers in your life.

We started the day off right with some freshly baked sourdough cinnamon swirl sandwich bread in bed!

I’d like to take a moment to appreciate this wonderful man here, my fiancé. He is such a wonderful father to our two girls, he’s the “fun” one, the one who is always pushing for more and better for them than what we had. We love you!!

I also wanna say thank you for keeping me going even when I’m tired and ready to throw in the towel. You supported my crazy vision of taking on a little bakery while I also work full time, am a dance mom, and home school both girls. I couldn’t do this without your support. Thank you for feeding my starter on the nights I’m just too exhausted. Thank you for helping make sure everything is set up at the markets and greeting each person who comes up so warmly because you know how my social anxiety gets the better of me at times. These past few months of starting the carb dealer have had its many hiccups, but you’ve been there cheering me on and without you I just couldn’t do this.

Hi friends 🙂

I know I’ve been quiet. Last week was so busy with recital and by Sunday I just needed some rest!

I took a few days off from baking for some much needed self-care, but I have to admit it’s been wonderful having the house smell like fresh baked goods again.

But I’m baaack. Unfortunately, I have some not so great news.

I will not be at the market this weekend. An opportunity opened up and I have to do some traveling for my full time job and today is bake day for the market. Usually I’d spend my day working from home while also baking non stop in preparation for the market.

I also have a party that I have been asked to provide yummy rolls and loaves for tomorrow and by the time I get home from work, I won’t be able to bake for both events.

As you have all read before, I do all of this by myself in my little kitchen and I also work full time. I know what my limits are and this week I just cannot push it.

I have a bunch of goodies that I’ve prepped for the market however that will be going into the oven on Saturday so I will be taking some pictures for anyone that would like to place an order just message the page or shoot me an email.

In the meantime, peep this beautiful Sourdough Lemon Loaf Cake that I pulled out of the oven last night. So so good. And yes, these will be at the next market along with some other new fun things. (I do not claim to be a great food photographer, I know I need to work on my photography skills 🤣)

Hi friends!!

I just wanted to say again wow I’m so grateful for the recent comments/messages I’ve been receiving of people letting me know they have enjoyed their bread, cookies, and rolls! I am just overjoyed by the support I am receiving and to that want to say THANK YOU again.

I may be a little quiet this week on here as my daughters both have dance recital this weekend so my week will be filled with 3 days of technical/dress rehearsal and then 3 different shows Friday and Saturday.

Just a reminder I won’t be at the market this Saturday but I am still open for orders. I have some orders I am filling this weekend so if you are wanting something this weekend just send the page a message and we can work it out.

I know I’ve mentioned it before but I am just so excited to be getting a second fridge this week because that means I am able to offer you guys even more at the next market. 🙂 I can’t wait!

As you may know, I am just starting out here. I make everything by hand right at home in my kitchen. I don’t have any fancy tools, I don’t even have a mixer that works as the motor in mine died so when I say everything is mixed by hand, I mean everything.

Starting a small business is hard and it’s scary. But I believe transparency is important. One of my favorite smalls businesses I’ve supported for years has been because of their transparency that drew me to them and I strive to do the same. So when I say that this starting has been a struggle I mean it. I’ve questioned whether I could do it financially, whether or not I could even physically do it ( I spend Tuesday-Saturday working non stop and get little to no sleep making all that I bring to the market) and whether or not it’s even worth it to keep going. But it’s the love that I have for making sourdough goodies that keeps me going! But in all reality, it’s the support I’m receiving, the compliments, the kinds words, the community.

I can’t say it enough, thank you!!

I will be posting some delicious-ness this weekend that you can expect to see at the next market on the 15th so keep an eye out. 😉

This is a bit of a delayed post because we got some much needed rest after this weekends market!

I just want to thank everyone in our town who came out this weekend to the farmers market and supported all of us vendors!

It was a great weekend.

I want to thank my friends and family who have helped me get the word out and continue to show their support as that is so very important for small businesses.

I want to thank all the new visitors who stopped by at my booth and a special thanks to the returning visitors who came back for more.

I know that I am not the only baker at the market and in our town so it means so much to everyone that stops by to see what I have to offer. What really amazed me is the ones who came to my booth and then went to the other bakers booths and got their goodies too. It warmed my heart to see such community as I do not wish to compete with anyone. I know just how hard each of us works to be there and share what we have with all of you. I think that seeing that was just an amazing example of how we each have our own unique things to offer and how we can ALL share with the community together.

We will not be at the upcoming market this weekend because my daughters have their dance recital that day but we will be back on the 15th and we will have some exciting new things for you to try. I can’t wait! See you then 🙂

Can’t wait to see you guys today! We will be here at the Kokomo farmers market until 12.

⭐️Placing Orders⭐️

Hi Friends! I have been asked recently about if I take orders!! Yes I do!

Please Read Below

How to Order:

Message me on here OR send an email to [email protected]

I will send you an invoice through square, once it’s paid I will begin making your order.

I also work full time, baking and the carb dealer is my passion! I do it out of the love for sharing quality baked goods with my community. Due to that my pickup days are Wednesdays or Saturdays (if Saturday is a market day you can pickup from there 🙂)

If you need items on another day let me know! We can see what we can work out.

You are welcome to pre order for the farmers market as well.

Please note for all orders I need at least 48 hour advance notice as sourdough goodies require those two days to prep, ferment, etc.

I can also deliver for a small fee!!

You can order anything I’ve posted previously about on the page. Right now the menu is limited just due to the fact that I am still growing. I bake everything at home from my kitchen and therefore am limited to space. However I am expanding so keep in mind there will be more items coming in the next few weeks!!

If you have something in mind that I haven’t posted, message me! I bake a lot of things that I haven’t yet posted just simply due to the fact that I am working towards being able to offer in bulk! 🙂

Does sourdough make cookies taste sour?

No.

I do ferment everything I bake for at least 24 hours so my cookies do have a stronger taste than if I were to bake right away. However the sourdough starter added to the cookies adds a richer more complex flavor that balances out all the sweetness.

I also brown the butter when making these cookies so the sourdough just helps to enhance that nutty flavor of the browned butter.

Simply put these cookies are very complex and delicious. They are sweet, savory and a hint of salty.

I am getting married in 3 months and have to literally force myself to stop eating them so that I can still fit into my dress. Thank goodness for the corset backing in my dress 🤣🤣
