Baking sourdough bread is definitely one of my favorite things to bake! Honestly, it was super intimidating when I first started. So many rules to follow and those rules varied by who you asked. It also seemed like if you looked at it wrong it wouldn’t rise since sourdough starter is a NATURAL yeast. That means it basically has a mind of its own if you don’t work with it correctly. A lot of people use a store bought yeast in their sourdough bread recipes to guarantee that it will rise. I personally don’t like to. It’s just me trying to get my sourdough starter to behave enough to make y’all some delicious bread! 😅Today was definitely a success!

It’s really scary seeing all this food we can’t eat. Meat, lettuce, and a lot of canned goods have been getting recalls for parasites, unsafe amounts of metals as well as cancer causing additives. One of the biggest parts of my bakery brand is using quality ingredients. When you buy cheap ingredients it will 100% show in your product. Every ingredient I use, I’ve done research on which is the best and which has the most flavor.
The last few months I’ve been researching ingredients on various pastries for me to add to the menu since I have a lot of breads already. The one ingredient that stumped me was the butter. The butter you use can make or break a pastry so it was super important for me to use quality butter! I found a lot of store bought ones are just tasteless or have harmful/unnecessary ingredients added. I thought well I’ll try homemaking it. Y’all……. This butter is a game changer!! I’m super excited to use this homemade butter in my pastries! You can’t eat a good buttery pastry without good butter! 😁
