Good morning, Kirklin!
Just one last reminder to get your stuff out by the curb this evening. Since we don't know what time they will be by YOUR house, be sure to have it all set out by 7am at the latest (!!) as they will only go by your house ONCE and we would hate for you to miss out.
Also, don't forget there is a council meeting on Monday at 7pm at the Community Center. Have a wonderful weekend to you all!

Today was another big step forward as mulching started around our brand-new playground equipment! You may have noticed our employees working the ground this week to get ready for the mulch. We are excited to announce that the climber, spring riders, and teeter-totter are now officially OPEN for play. Thank you so very much to Billy Walker and Drew Miller for all of your hard work at the park, and around town! As it is brand new mulch, please note that it may get the kiddies a bit dirty for awhile.

And, we had the honor of meeting Katy Foster of Lebanon, who proudly became the first young adventurer to climb the new stair climber! With permission, we're thrilled to share her photo and celebrate this special milestone in the history of our park.

More mulching is planned for tomorrow as we work to complete the playground. We appreciate everyone's patience and support throughout this project.

Seeing children already enjoying the new equipment was our goal, and is exactly why this investment was made. We look forward to creating many years of fun, laughter, and memories for families in our community.

Be sure to stop by and check out the progress! More to come later this summer so stay tuned as we do our best to make it a park you are proud of ❤️

The Kirklin Police Department is asking for the public's help regarding another incident of vandalism at the town park.

Additional offensive and inappropriate graffiti was found carved into the plastic playground equipment. Damage to public property is not only costly to repair but also takes away from the safe and welcoming environment our community strives to provide for children and families. Public property belongs to everyone in our community, and acts of destruction such as this will not be tolerated.

If you live near the park and have a Ring doorbell camera, security camera, or any video footage that may have captured activity in or around the park, please contact the Kirklin Police Department at 765-279-5198. Even footage that may seem unrelated or insignificant could provide valuable information to our investigation. Your assistance may help us identify those responsible, recover damages, and prevent future incidents.

The Kirklin Police Department appreciates the community's support and cooperation as we work together to protect our town.

Thank you for helping us keep Kirklin a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly community.

📣 Please Join Us in Welcoming Kirklin’s New Town Marshal, Steve Jones!

The Town of Kirklin is pleased to welcome Steve Jones as our new Town Marshal.

Marshal Jones began his career in law enforcement in 1993 and brings more than three decades of valuable experience to our community. Throughout his career, Steve has served in both Town Marshal and Deputy Marshal roles in several small towns throughout our region and has also gained extensive administrative experience. Most recently, he has served as a Deputy Marshal in Rossville for the past five years.

Steve and his wife have been married for 28 years and are proud parents of two grown children. His passion has always been rooted in small-town policing, where strong relationships, trust, and community connection matter most. He values the close-knit atmosphere that makes small-town departments unique and is excited to become part of the Kirklin community.

Marshal Jones shared that he looks forward to earning the respect and trust of Kirklin residents. As a true people person, he genuinely enjoys connecting with those he serves and believes that positive relationships are at the heart of effective community policing.

If you see Steve out in the community or stop by his office, please help us give him a warm Kirklin welcome!

At the same time, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Brendon Bright for his six years of dedicated service as Kirklin Town Marshal. His commitment to our community has been greatly valued, and we thank him for the leadership and service he has provided over the years. We wish Brendon the very best as he begins his new endeavor as Clinton County Sheriff.

Kirklin is fortunate to have both dedicated public servants and a supportive community, and we look forward to this next chapter together. Welcome to Kirklin, Marshal Jones! 🇺🇸👮

It has been brought to our attention that there are individuals in our community knocking on doors for religious purposes today and that some residents are unhappy about it. While we totally understand, especially in this day and age, that it can feel intrusive and perhaps a little scary to some for a stranger to knock on your door unexpectedly, those canvassing for religious and political purposes are protected under the First Amendment and are NOT required to obtain a permit.

Please note that town ordinances are on our website, including our peddler permit ordinance. Here is the direct link to it: https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/kirklin/latest/kirklin_in/0-0-0-2848

While most of you are aware that we have a part-time police department that is not staffed 24/7, if you ever have an actual peddler, as defined by our ordinances, knocking on your door, feel free to contact us at 765-279-8786 and we will notify an officer if one is on duty.

Any questions? Please call Town Hall at 765-279-8786 or the Kirklin Police Department at 765-279-5198.

Have a great day, Kirklin, and I will be making another post soon to introduce you to our new Town Marshal!
