What started out as a hobby has turned into a passion. As a little girl my Mamaw and I would sit and watch The Food Network for hours. Back in November, my world changed drastically. I could no longer eat normal food. I could only eat food that I cooked and baked fresh. I began to have to learn how to make EVERYTHING from scratch. I relied on things I had learned watching my Mamaw but then I had t
o learn new tips and tricks. I realized that I love baking and cooking but now making sure everything is made with the freshest ingredients. "All you need is a little faith and flour" captures the essence of both baking and life. In the kitchen, flour is an essential ingredient, and with the addition of a few other ingredients, delicious food can be created. Similarly, in life, faith is an essential ingredient. It helps us through challenges and helps us rise above difficulties much like yeast and flour in dough. Combining faith with effort and resilience can yield remarkable results, just as flour, when mixed with the right ingredients and a touch of faith, can become something extraordinary. So, as is customary with every sourdough starter, mine is called "Millie." Which is named after my sweet Mamaw, Mildred. Let "Millie" and I make some wonderful food for you.
