Many passers-by may wonder why the shop seems to always look closed. Well, let me tell you! 😊
Our perfect little spot in downtown Kingsley came with big, beautiful windows. Amazing right?! Sort of.
While they are amazing, they are also single paned. Yep, huge windows with a thin layer of glass. 🥴 While the view is incredible, single layers of glass aren't great for baked goods.
Why? Take a look at these photos taken Wednesday - each of the same cupcake, 15 minutes apart. Then, take a look at the video at the end of 45 minutes. Does it look like the cupcake's sweating? 🥵
It is!
Which makes it impossible to serve, or else risk someone's tummy arguing with them. 🤢
After 15 minutes in the sun (starting at 3:30pm), the chocolate began melting. After 30, it started sweating. By the 45 min mark, it looked gross.
BUT, this is why we have SHADES 🥰🎉😍
Yes, they may look weird, but they help keep the heat out SO much and keep all the yummy treats cool and fresh for you! (The AC helps, too 😉🫶)
So, stop in, check out the signs in the windows, and rest assured our baked goods are sun-free and ready to be enjoyed!
