🍪 So, what exactly is a Southern Tea Cake? 🍪

I was asked this today, and I realized not everyone has had the pleasure of enjoying one!

Southern tea cakes are an old-fashioned Southern treat—somewhere between a cookie and a little cake. They’re soft, tender, lightly sweet, and buttery, with a simple, homemade flavor that lets the ingredients shine.

Tea cakes have been made in Southern kitchens for generations, and recipes can vary from family to family. They’re the kind of treat that brings to mind a grandmother’s kitchen, a cup of coffee or tea, and a little something sweet to enjoy.

For me, they’re more than just a cookie.

My great-grandmother was known for making the best tea cakes. ❤️

I only hope that the tea cakes I make today are ones she would have enjoyed.

A little bit of tradition, a lot of love, and hopefully a taste of home in every bite. ❤️

Market Update for Saturday at the Kingfisher Farmers Market! 🌾✨

We’ll be out at the market right at 8:00 AM with a few very small, limited batches of your favorites this week:
🍪 Peanut Butter Cookies (Special batch!)
🥥 Coconut Pecan Cookies
🧁 Pecan Pie Mini Muffins

Once these small batches sell out, that’s it for the week!

⏰ Important Schedule Change: We will be closing down our table at 10:00 AM sharp so we can pack up by 10:30 AM and head to an 11:00 AM meeting.

Be sure to stop by early so you don't miss us! See you Saturday morning! 👋❤️

What a Saturday! ❤️🍪

GracieMaes had an AMAZING day at the Kingfisher Farmers Market!

We SOLD OUT of several favorites — and I’m especially excited that people were coming back asking for the pecan muffins and coconut pecan cookies after they were gone! 🥰 That tells me I may need to bake a whole lot more of those next time!

I also introduced some new cookie flavors today, and I’m having so much fun seeing which ones YOU love best.

A huge thank-you to everyone who stopped by, bought a treat, told a friend, came back for more, or simply encouraged me along the way. Every purchase and every kind word means so much as I grow GracieMaes. ❤️

I’m taking notes, learning from every market, and already thinking about what needs to be on the table next time!
