Meet the Clemmons Farmers Market Vendors 2026!
Defining Desserts / Stone of Scone - Luke and Susette Marot

Defining Desserts and Stone of Scone are micro-bakery collaborations of the Marot family’s culinary and creative talents. Susette started Defining Desserts with a foundation of family recipes and encouragement, and her son Luke started Stone of Scone to complement her menu with new recipes of his own. Together they spend extensive time on recipe R&D, but tasting is enjoyed by the whole family. Luke also helps with branding and packaging, Caleb helps with the tech and website (and his wife Laura sells artwork on seasonal craft dates), Collin & Brianna provide much-appreciated help with the bookkeeping, and Susette’s grandson Philip happily enjoys his role as the family’s newest taste-tester! This is the second summer that Defining Desserts and Stone of Scone will be offering baked goods at two Saturday markets simultaneously: Susette runs the year-round cafΓ© booth at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Farmers Market, and Luke will run the summer booth at the Clemmons Farmers Market. Over the last several years, they’ve developed ideas and recipes for nearly 100 products: All scratch-made. No mixes. Fresh Pastries, Scones, Shortbreads, Tarts, Trail Bars, Coffee Cakes, Brownies, Baklavas, Granolas, and Eastern European Cookies are offered on a rotating basis, and they regularly release new flavors and products. Defining Desserts and Stone of Scone also offer pre-orders, product holds, and location drops. Stop by to chat, pick up some fresh favorites, or try a new specialty!

2026 UPDATE:

Happy New Year, y'all; hopefully you're enjoying the snow and staying warm! We took January off for a breather and to celebrate a late Christmas and birthdays with family (and to wait out the ice!), but now it's time to get back in the saddle. However, I (Luke) have a new job that affects my schedule and availability, so there will be a few changes to the bakery this year:

We will still be at Farmers' Markets on a modified schedule: We’ll still be at the WS Fairgrounds Farmers Market and the King Farmers' Market this year through Defining Desserts (mom’s bakery), and the Clemmons Farmers Market will likely be scaled back to about every 3-4 weeks to hit the highlights of the summer schedule!

We’ll also be scaling back a bit on the festivals and special events, and we are also no longer wholesaling our products through any other shop or vendor for the foreseeable future. With the limited capabilities of our kitchen, huge volumes of baked goods and long market/festival schedules were taxing us in too many directions for the returns. So, we’re scaling back to a manageable workload to maintain health, enthusiasm, and to make sure that fresh products are delivered directly to you!

Rest assured, we still have lots of recipe ideas, big plans, and want to make sure that our customers are taken care of and satisfied with the best products we can make. Our public availability might be a bit abbreviated, but the communication lines are always available; for special orders or a personalized product restock, please email or text us, and we’ll get delicious products to you! We appreciate y’all; thanks for being such great customers! See you soon…

Luke
