Hello friends! It's been a minute since I have made a proper cake and wanted to share it. This cake was made in partnership with Icing Smiles. Icing Smiles is a National non-profit that provides cakes for children with medical needs. Just a small source of joy for those who really deserve it. I have volunteered with this organization on occasion since 2016. It was made for a teenaged boy for his birthday. He requested a sophisticated eclair/Boston cream style cake with all natural colors. At the moms request, I also hid a small gum paste rendition of his pet ferret.

Hi New Kent! 🌸🌻 We’re James and Nikki Miller, the proud new owners of New Kent Floral at 2585 New Kent Hwy, formerly known as Margeaux’s Florist. We’re both Virginia natives, originally from Chesapeake, but we have been living in New Kent for the past 4 years and we’ve fallen in love with this community.

James is a retired Army veteran, and I work at an advertising agency. We’re thrilled to become part of this community in this way and continue providing beautiful flowers for all occasions. As passionate supporters of local businesses, we’re delighted to announce that our amazing team is staying on to continue offering that homegrown service you’ve come to love.

Our youngest turned 7 this weekend and he wanted a cake like the helmet of Master Cheif from Halo. I didn't have the time for a full 3D helmet, so this is my 2.5D version 😉

I made this cake recently for a dear friend, Chelsie, who just finished 16 rounds of chemo. She has shown incredible strength through this journey and it is not over yet, but I know she will come out of it stronger than ever!

Had a wonderful celebration yesterday for my mother's birthday. She really has a lot of great friends! For her cake she asked for chocolate with peanut butter buttercream and the theme of her year is BOLD, this is the result, bold and beautiful like her.

My cake was inspired by my mother's wedding dress. The cake is covered in hand piped "beading" and fringe. The board was designed to look like tooled leather. The title is "Alternative History: a Cowboy and Native American Wedding"
