Hi friends! It’s been a minute since we checked in here… we’ve been traveling the country on the Broadway national tour of for the past six months. We definitely miss sharing our bagels with you, meeting amazing customers and vendors at the farmers markets, and using our creativity to come up with new flavors. We spent January/February in the northwest and California, February/March in Florida, a week in New Orleans, and now we’re up in the northeast in Massachusetts, New York, and Ottowa! Hope you are all hanging in there during the late Montana winter and have found some carbs to satiate your cravings while we are away!

It’s been a MINUTE since we posted here… we’ve been on the Broadway national tour of Anastasia since September and have been enjoying bagels around the country! Today’s local bagel shop is in Minneapolis and they have AWESOME bagels. I got a rosemary bagel with lemon dill cream cheese… definitely the closest thing to a Big Sky Bagel we’ve had so far on tour! We miss you all, and we miss making bagels but being back on tour with musical theater is our true passion. If you’re in the Spokane area, or want to take a little road trip and want to check out our show, it plays at the First Interstate Center December 28-January 2. Happy Holidays!

Where in the WORLD have we been? We abruptly stopped making bagels last month because…. We got jobs in theatre again! We are currently rehearsing in New York City for the Broadway national tour of Anastasia! We weren’t allowed to publicly say anything until this week, but THIS is why we had to abandon our bagel fans so suddenly at the end of August. Lizzie will be keys 1/associate conductor and Scoob is the Covid safety manager for the company. We are THRILLED to be back doing what we love, but we’ve definitely missed bagels. Today Scoob got us a New York pumpernickel bagel and made a sandwich with it. Definitely good but missing something… maybe it’s the Big Sky water? 😉

Where are we? It’s been radio silence over here since last week, and many of you have asked about our menu and deliveries. We can’t reveal details right now, but we’ve had to put bagels on pause because of some exciting opportunities this fall! It all happened pretty suddenly so we didn’t get the chance to make any lead-up announcements that last week was our final week of bagels for awhile. We didn’t even know until after the market on Saturday that it would be our last one! Once we are given the green light to announce our plans we will, but for now it’s hush hush. Thanks for making the first 15 months of Big Sky Bagels an amazing success! ✌🏼❤️🥯

Great news! We tested negative for Covid, so we have reopened orders for this week. Kalispell and Missoula, you have till Thursday at 5 PM to order for a Friday delivery! Kalispell will be delivered after noon and Missoula will be delivered after 5 PM, or you can choose market pickup at the Clark Fork Market!

Also, a HUGE shoutout to The Spot for getting us through these product shortages. We will now be using WHEAT MONTANA FARMS & BAKERY flour for our bagels and we couldn’t be more grateful to The Spot in Kalispell for adding us to their flour order each week. Support local businesses, and go get some incredible donuts or burgers from The Spot. 😁 It’s a tight community and we’ve all got each other’s backs.

Sad news, bagel fans… we won’t be able to attend the Whitefish Farmers Market on Tuesday. We were exposed to Covid and because of the timing of exposure, we can’t get tested until Wednesday. It’s the right thing to do to cancel our attendance at the market and deliveries, but boy does it suck. Tonight we are camping in the woods but I promise when we get back tomorrow I will email everyone who ordered for Tuesday and reschedule. Oof. Stay safe, folks.

Trying a new ordering landing page on Square! We’ve gotten some confused messages from customers this week and when that happens we try to tweak things so that the ordering process is clear. Check it out!

Just so you know, the new menu is always available on Thursday night... usually after 9 PM. If it’s past your ordering window (Monday nights for Kalispell/Whitefish and Wednesday nights for Missoula), you won’t be able to place an order until that new menu goes live! The best way to know when you can order is to join our newsletter mailing list. You’ll get the menu and any weekly news emailed to you the moment it goes live each week!

We found flour!! We were down to a bag and a half, which is enough to get us through one very small market with no flour...

We found flour!! We were down to a bag and a half, which is enough to get us through one very small market with no flour leftover to feed the starter. But we found two bags at a different warehouse so we can finish the week! We also had a generous offer from a local business to put us on their flour order every week so hopefully we won’t run out again.

On that note… go preorder your bagels! Kalispell/Whitefish you have till tomorrow, Missoula you have till Wednesday.

Also, in other fun news… the three ingredients it takes to make our bagels (flour, kosher salt, and olive oil) are out of stock at the food warehouse. We will try another location, but for now we aren’t doing preorders till we figure out just how many bagels we can make with the ingredients we have on hand! The pandemic throws yet another curve…
