Sharing this again as it has all the details you need to enjoy an Amish buffet and get some goodies...both available at the Miller’s Bakery in Keosauqua.

Hello Friends of the Sunrise Bakery!
As many of you know, the Bontragers moved to Ohio, but this page was left open to share any future information on Amish bakery or buffet options. The Bontragers had posted at their last buffet that another Amish family was interested in doing something similar to what they had been offering.

Let me introduce the Ezra and Ida Miller family of Miller’s Bakery in Keosauqua. They have had their bakery for quite a while, have set up at Old Thresher’s in Mt. Pleasant and are now starting to do buffets!

Details:
-Address:17453 205th St, Keosauqua, IA
-Phone: 319-201-8862 (Voicemail)
-The family hosted some buffets in November and December. (Personally, the one I attended, was delicious!)
-At this time, the meals are by free-will donation.
-Currently, their buffet area can serve 65-70 at a time.
-Reservations are not necessary, but if your group is 10 or more, you can call to leave a voicemail and ask for a reservation.
-The upcoming breakfast buffet is the first one they have had in the Keosauqua area, but they were well received at their previous home.
-The bakery is open Thursday-Saturday from 8am to 5pm and also during the buffets.
-The bakery will have candies through the end of February and then again in the fall.
-If you would like to place a bakery order to be picked up, you can leave the family a voicemail.
-If you leave a voicemail, please leave the details of what you are inquiring about and a return phone number.

The Miller's look forward to meeting new friends and hope to see you one of these days!

Oreo and "his" (John and Marie) Bontrager family are in the area this week. They wish they could visit with all their friends, but wanted you to know you might run into them around the Amish School Benefit Lunch on Saturday or the Scenic Drive in Van Buren County.

A letter from the Bontragers and a few glimpses of life in Ohio. Everyone is doing well there! Spending time with the family over the weekend was a great experience, full of laughter, story telling and memory making.

Dear friends in Iowa,

How are our friends in Iowa, I hope you're all doing great as that is the way it is with us!! We're pretty well settled in, watching the sunrises in Ohio... if it is not raining.
It's very nice to have the whole family here together, which is the main reason for the move, of course, but we really do miss our friends in Iowa.

By the way, we had some Iowa friends here over the weekend! Pat and Dawn Cazin from Burlington came on Thursday evening, Friday morning Pat drove on to Connecticut to experience the commissioning of the new USS Iowa submarine and returned to our home on Saturday night. Dawn stayed with us which was wonderful. They drove home again on Sunday.

We have been getting plenty of rain this spring, and even some flooding in the low areas. All this moisture makes the rolling hills and the trees turn green really quick.
John and the boys are staying busy with construction, there is plenty of that with the heavier population.

Your Iowa friends in Ohio,
John and Marie Bontrager family

Thank you to everyone that stopped by the bakery and/or for the last buffet with the Bontrager family. It was great for the family to be able to visit with the many friends they have made over the years!

The bakery's last days will be this week, Thursday-Saturday. Stop by Friday or Saturday and have a free donut!
