We're excited to be a part of ! Pitch 2021, a platform for startups in to collaborate with and receive mentorship from F&A industry leaders (such as PepsiCo, Hormel, General Mills) to improve the global food system. www.sofresh.com

SoFresh, Inc. was selected as one of the Top 45 startups from over 370 applications. The 2021 cohort is over 50% women- and/or BIPOC-led or -founded and hail from across the globe, based in 15 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, France, India, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The ! Pitch program consists of a week of in-depth mentoring and coaching with industry leaders like PepsiCo, General Mills, Hormel, Herbalife Nutrition, and the final 15 startups will be chosen to present in the live-streamed public pitch competition, on November 10, where three will be named winners in their respective sectors.

Why does this happen to my bread? It’s perfect one day, and the next it’s changing colors! Besides that, I HATE throwing away . The culprit? .

Mold is literally everywhere from the air we breathe to the surfaces we touch. There are thousands of different types of molds including “the good” and “the bad”. Mold is a part of the fungus family along with a lot of the foods we enjoy today including certain cheeses and mushrooms. While it is almost inescapable, mold does need the perfect environment to thrive in humid, warm, and a source of food. Given these conditions, mold spores grow into mold colonies which are then visible to the human eye.

Although you can cut off the “moldy part,” chances are high the mold is already developing in the rest of the . This is where packaging comes in! Our bags have a vaporous food ingredient ( and approved) that prevents the mold spores from growing into colonies once the bread is in the package and closed! Say goodbye to throwing out bread after 4 days

Attention all enthusiasts! You know those times when you’re craving deliciously fresh bread that costs $5.00 or more? You go ahead and splurge even though you know you’ll probably only get halfway through before it starts to get moldy


What if there was something that would let you consume the entire loaf before it starts to go bad? You could prevent throwing away the moldy loaf to be. Instead, you could use SoFresh bags that would allow your bread to last for about 10 days, and you can eat the ENTIRE loaf of bread.

Meet the SoFresh leadership team!

Toby Thomas (left) has created food packaging (like Hefty’s OneZip) for 30 years and holds over 40 patents. He has Mechanical Engineering degrees from University of Wisconsin-Madison and
Texas A&M University.

Bill Belias (right) has over 30 years of experience in new product and package development. He holds 21 patents and has worked with multinational companies as well as startups. He has a Chemical Engineering degree from CWRU Boot Camps - Case Western Reserve University, Lifelong Learning.
