For someone not literate in cakes, I am proud of us @plumblossomarts. This is one of his favourite ice cream flavors turned into a cake. Butter pecan with brown butter frosting. It was really, really good.

#breaddiaryentry no.27: #experiment time! Made two Morticia swirl loaves (charcoal and black garlic). First one I made on a baking stone with steam pan at the bottom of the oven. Second one was with my Dutch oven. Both had lovely crumb but the one made in the Dutch oven had a much more dramatic bloom. Lesson: better bloom with Dutch oven. Needs more Garlic! (Seriously, can there ever be too much?)

Bread diary entry #13b: Welp... the beet beat me again. I suspect it has something to do with keeping the pH low. I'm not sure how to go about it during the second half of the bake as it is still bright red at halftime. If anyone has suggestions, please leave me some comments!
