Macaron sunshine, on the other hand, makes me infinitely happy.

I’m making this candy bar inspired cake this week and I’m so excited I may have to ACCIDENTALLY make too much so I have a little for me too. 😬

When I added cakes to my menu I had just taken a class by Christina Tosi, and one of the assignments was to create a cake - with at least one cake component, one frosting component and one filling component. We were instructed to take inspiration from other favorite foods…and I chose a Take 5 candy bar.

It’s made of chocolate, peanut butter, caramel and pretzels…so I turned them all into components:
Chocolate cake
Peanut Butter frosting
Pretzel and peanut crumble
Salted Caramel filling

It’s one of my favorite salty/sweet treats! What is yours??

Even if I immediately have a plan for cookie sets I always look at the photos on Pinterest. They are such good inspiration for designing the sets I make for you all.

Do you use Pinterest still? What do you search for? Are you putting together outfits? Searching for recipes?

Today I’m spending the day being LAZY!! I’m still in my bed in my pjs and it’s 5pm…but I definitely earned it.

Thursday, I loaded my car with
200 macarons,
48 Rice Krispie treats,
24 Cinnamon Toast Crunch treat bars,
36 Mississippi mud pie cups,
12 dozen mini cupcakes and
3dz sugar cookies

- and I drove it all five hours away to Denton for my youngest daughter’s sorority spring formal.

It was a beautiful venue for the ladies and their dates! And I think the macaron tower looked amazing against the backdrop of the ceiling lights. 😍

If you had a need for a dessert bar, what would you want? I would need compost (kitchen sink) cookies, lemon bars and gooey butter cake.

This was maybe my biggest production week ever:
300 macarons
236 decorated sugar cookies
144 mini cupcakes
36 Mississippi mud pie minis
…and a to-be-determined number of Rice Krispie treats (with alternate cereal choices).

I really need to make more things they don’t require squeezing a piping bag… 🤪🤪

I love making Rice Krispie treats without the Rice Krispies. My favorite alternative is cinnamon toast crunch. Have you ever made cereal bar treats with a different cereal? If so, what’s your favorite?
