We often are asked when our bakers start the day- for the Saturday bake- our first baker is in a little before 2. It’s quiet, and dark, and most everyone is sleeping. The scent of freshly baked bread starts to fill the cold dark air around the bakery. Our next baker arrives at 5, the next at 6, our FOH team starts setting up at 645, and you know it’s almost time to open when the surrounding black smells cinnamon and chocolate, those croissants and cinnamon swirls must be coming out of the oven!
…doors open at 7:30, are we ready?
The town starts waking up and rolling in… our sandwich team starts cranking out savory lunches,
And by midday Saturday, as you may know, our little bakery is humming! It’s hard to find a seat, the line is wrapping and hard to find the end. Our first baker is wrapping the day, shaking out the linens to dry and feeding the starter, so we can do it all again and be ready for the next day.
What’s not to miss this weekend: Irish Soda Bread! Colcannon danishes! Guinness cake with house made Irish Cream frosting!
