Gramma K's Kitchen

Gramma K's Kitchen Cinnamon rolls, breads, muffins, and cookies I've been baking bread since before it was popular! I made my first batch of cinnamon rolls in 1980.

Like, who was making bread in 1980? And now, here I am filling orders and baking people happy.

TUESDAY TIDBIT: If you saw my post last Friday, you know I was on a teen-grandgirl trip to Texas.

When you travel with teens girls, you frequent coffee shops, fix hair, go shopping, and sometimes do crafts.

My strong suite is the kitchen - not fabric markers. But, I did decorate a bag. Full disclosure, I had a 16-yr old instructing me on every line/design on this bag (you think I'm kidding??)

I do think it came out decent - smudges and all. The girls said this would be my "Gramma K's cash bag." So....that's where you all come in.

The bag is empty at the moment. Feel free to call 913-669-5532, order off the menu below, and start filling the bag. :)

(FYI......in case you were wondering, sometimes we face paint too!)

MONDAY MEMO: I prepped last night for making 10 dozen muffins today.

My church's VBS will have 100 volunteers daily this week and I hope the muffins will give them a sweet start to their Tuesday morning!

Prepping the night before is a tremendous help with a big baking day. It's such a relief to come to the kitchen early and a lot of measuring is already done. Try it sometime! You might like it.

Also, I color-coded these three muffin liners to their muffin flavor. Can you guess these three flavors?

Maybe you noticed two of my Tupperware Mix-n-Store bowls do not have lids. If you are a Tupperware user, you know how easily the lids and containers can get separated. I have no earthly idea how it happens - but it does! Can I get an AMEN?

So......if you happen to have a spare 4-cup or 8-cup Tupperware Mix-n-Store lid, I would be willing to trade a 4-pack of cinnamon rolls for it. Seriously! Let me know!

Anyway - here's to a muffin-making day.

FUN FRIDAY: Gramma K is on vacay with her seven teen grandgirls. Perfect opportunity to try a coffee shop cinnamon roll. (Lost track of how many coffee shops these girls have been in this trip.)

Doing my market research, I bit into this cinnamon bun (as they call it) that has been warmed in an oven.

Oh! My! Goodness! It was soooo good! The only one I've tried during a market research session that I would buy again! Fluffy. Tasty. And lightly sweetened icing.

If you go to Waco, TX, go to For Keeps Coffee, tell Dani and Cameron that Karen sent you for a cinnamon roll!

(Dinner pic is at Magnolia Table.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FARMER ROBIN!

Farmer Robin is the creator of TNR hills and instigator of the FarmHER Co-op, of which Gramma K is a part.

Farmer Robin also happens to be my favorite daughter!

She is also the reason that there is a Gramma K's Kitchen. She grew up with a steady diet of my cinnamon rolls. Over the years she kept telling me I could sell them.

So, of all times, I tested out the market in the middle of Covid, by offering my cinnamon rolls. Interestingly, even during Covid, the cinnamon rolls were best-sellers.

Robin christened my business "Gramma K's Kitchen" and the rest is history. So now you the rest of the story.

She's a great story-teller, an awesome photographer (her TNR Hills page showcases her photography!), a wealth of self-taught agriculture/animal information, and one of my biggest cheerleaders!

Love you sweetie and can't wait to see what's next in store for you!

PS - don't forget to check out TNR Hills FB page. You will love the photos!

TUESDAY TIDBIT: Back to a good 'ole basic today - French bread.

I've been making this almost as long as the cinnamon rolls. My recipe came from my friend's mom who used to make homemade bread for a school district. Yes - you read that right. Back in the '80s they were making homemade bread for school lunches.

It's such a basic bread - but still soft with a light fluffy texture inside. And to think it only has FIVE ingredients!

Suggestions for use:
- slather with butter/garlic and toast it to accompany your Italian meal
- cut lengthwise and make huge sub sandwiches for teenagers
- cut in slices, warm slightly in microwave, butter it, and serve on the side with dinner
- FRENCH TOAST!!!! At Gramma K's, a go-to evening meal is breakfast. And we LOVE French Toast. Whisk eggs, whipping cream, a little cinnamon/sugar mixture and toss in a little vanilla if you're feeling fancy. Dip French bread slices and brown in a skillet loaded with butter - it is the best!
EXTRA FREE TIDBIT:
Homemade syrup: boil 1 part brown sugar to 2 parts water for syrup.

Loaves are always reasonably priced at $7. Text or call 913-669-5532 with your order.

PS - these freeze well, so buying in quantity is a great idea.
