Lights, camera, action! 🎬🍫

The new film Rise and Shine opens in AMC theaters nationwide today, and we’re so proud to say a few scenes were filmed right here at André’s!

The film follows Terri, a teenager with cerebral palsy, as she navigates friendship, independence, high school, and prom. It’s inspired by the true story and memoir Remembering Terri by Janice Steele, and it was made right here in Kansas City by the local filmmakers at Just Like You Films, who brought heart, authenticity, and hometown talent to every scene.

Keep your eyes peeled on the big screen. You might recognize our space, and a few familiar faces from our team, including Jen Mays, Monet, Tanner, Nancy and René!

Back in 2022, we teamed up with our friends at Q39 to bring together Kansas City’s famous BBQ and our family’s Swiss baking traditions. Four years later, this seasonal collab has become a fall tradition we (and you!) look forward to every year.

Inside that flaky, buttery crust you’ll find Q39’s smoked brisket and Classic BBQ Sauce, caramelized onions, Calabrian chilis, and a blend of imported Swiss cheeses. It’s the ultimate BBQ-lover’s quiche, where KC meets the Alps.

Available for nationwide shipping and in-store pickup throughout October and November, while supplies last!

This October, André’s celebrates 71 years in business, and we couldn’t be more grateful. 🇨🇭❤️ In 1955, André Bollier opened his Swiss chocolate and pastry shop in Kansas City. Today, his grandson René and wife Nancy carry the family craft forward, still using old-world techniques and time-honored recipes.

To everyone who has walked through our doors, sent a box to someone they love, or made André’s part of their family traditions: thank you! Here’s to many more years together.
