I don’t show my kids’ faces a lot on social media anymore … but this moment meant a lot to me. Since we moved, I felt like we are starting from the bottom, rebuilding everything that we worked together to accomplish in Georgia.
My ultimate goal there was to create a life where my kids thrived, felt safe & above all else - were HAPPY!
That goal has not changed - if anything, it’s been heightened by new challenges, home-ownership, new routines, schedules, some things I don’t feel comfortable sharing online… the list is never-ending.
I guess the point I’m trying to make (lol) is that  rebuilding doesn’t mean recreating the exact life we had before. It means continuing to create a safe, happy life for my kids, even when everything around us has changed.
They rely on me to be their safe space and to protect their peace. Sometimes that means setting boundaries (literally always setting boundaries, lol…something I used to be really bad at…not just in motherhood), surrounding them with positivity, and not giving so much attention to the things…or people…that really don’t matter. Who checks in, who doesn’t, who thinks we should be doing things differently, or who simply isn’t supportive.
Anyway - I guess here’s your daily reminder that social media gives you less than 10% of someone’s life. Probably less than that on my page anymore 😂
…but here’s 20 minutes of my day captured in one little Polaroid-the boys helping me make the cookies that always sold out in Georgia.
