Our Story
The original “Sweet Sugar Britches “ was born on a rainy wednesday afternoon, almost a week and a half overdue. She was our big blue eyed ball of sass. As we grew our family, in love and laughter, our love for sweets grew too. We soon found out that our little lady was allergic to peanuts and tree nuts and it changed everything. We found that even though products didn’t have peanuts directly in them, the manufacturing plants in which they were made, also manufactured other products with nuts in them. All of our love for sweets turned into label reading nightmares. So we decided to make all of the food ourselves. Breads, snacks, treats. The whole nine. When cookies started being eaten for breakfast, I found ways to sneak in homemade applesauce so with each cookie, my littles were getting a serving of fruit, and a spoon full of sugar. When holidays came, I was the master of the dessert table.
The Bakery came to be when we realised visiting ice cream shops and other bakeries for those sweet treats of delight, were almost impossible. We surely can’t be the only ones with this particular allergen, so why aren’t there any choices for food allergen sufferers? Especially sweet treats!!! So I decided to bring my nut free sweets right to you. The taste of homemade, you just can’t beat that. I enjoyed the idea of old fashioned recipes with a modern twist- so here we are today. Sweet Sugar Britches being the pie-o-neer, baking nut free goodies- and also having wonderful recipes that can be substituted for many diet needs including sugar and gluten. We are the bakery that thinks of not just one in mind- but all. There are no limits to enjoying the love of life- and the love of sweets.
Our motto is to count the memories not the calories. I truly believe that the world could be changed, one sweet treat at a time.
