500 desserts, a very busy weekend, and a whole lot to be thankful for. 🤍🎂🍌
This weekend I had the privilege of making 100 vanilla mini cakes, 100 chocolate mini cakes, and 300 individual banana puddings for our church Homecoming, along with a custom birthday cake and a couple pans of banana pudding for our family reunion.
And I definitely couldn’t have done it without my helpers. Eric and Rhylee, thank you for jumping in and helping me.
One of the things I’m especially thankful for is my church. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching God grow our church, move in our church, and bring people together.
Because of my work schedule, I don’t get to be involved in church as much as I would like. There are Sundays I have to miss, and sometimes I hate feeling like I’m not able to give as much of myself as I’d like to.
But this weekend reminded me that God can use whatever we have, wherever we are. He’s given me a love for creating and baking, and somehow He keeps giving me opportunities to use something as simple as a dessert to serve others.
Maybe it’s “just a cake” or “just a little cup of banana pudding,” but I know it can be so much more than that. It can be part of a celebration, a gathering, a memory, or a moment of fellowship.
I’m thankful that even when I can’t always be where I want to be, God still finds ways for me to be where He can use me. 🤍
Thankful for my family, thankful for my church, thankful for the gifts God has given me, and most of all, thankful for the opportunity to use them.
