We had a great time last night at the Craighead County Farm Bureau Rice is Nice cook off!
In Party Dish, I won 1st with my Key Lime Pie w/ Rice Crispy Treat Crust. Acea came in 2nd with his Cheesy Rice Balls w/ Rice Paper Crackers.
In Main Dish, Everett won 1st with his Red Beans and Rice Pot Pie. And Mr. Zain won our special ribbon with his Spam Musubi!

Next week on the 19th: Dairy competition!

2026 Rice Rep here with a fun fact!
🌾Arkansas ranks #1 among the six major rice-producing states, growing over 50% on the rice in the U.S! And most of Arkansas's rice is grown in Poinsett county🌾

I'm a state 4-H Advanced Record Book winner for my Civic Engagement with Community Service Learning Project!!! 4-H Advanced Record Books include all the project work, leadership, awards, education, and community service with pictures, hours, and impact plus an essay, a resume, and then an interview. Fun fact: my interview took place as soon as I got off the plane for my recent DC trip.

I had a fantastic time at the National 4-H Conference in Washington D.C! I made so many new friends and connections, and being able to work together with other youth on our challenge question is an experience I will never forget. 🍀💚

Did you know you can buy meat, eggs & more at the Huffman Family Farms in brookland? You can also buy Maggie Magoodle Bakes pepper jelly there! All my pepper jelly sales go to fund my 4-H project, The Spice Girl Project, adding spice kits to food pantries around Northeast Arkansas. To date, we have distributed over 350 kits!

Did you know the 4oz Pepper Jelly we sell in the store is made by Maggie Magoodle Bakes , a local Girl Scout and Craighead 4H member? Go follow her! Each jar sold provides the $ for her to make spice kits, like this, that she then donates to local food pantries. This allows food recipients to season the food received that is often bland and tasteless.
Pepper jelly is great over softened cream cheese with crackers or as a glaze on pork or chicken dishes!
I'll post a link to the food pantry list as well.

In lieu of the winter weather coming in, remember to get stuff for Snow Cream at the store! I'll re-share how you make it in the coming days. You'll need:
2 gallons clean fresh snow
14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
1 c. Milk
1 c.Sugar
And 1 tsp. vanilla extract!

This week, the Spice Girl Project was able to help over 400 people across 4 different counties through the Craighead County 4H Christmas Dinner boxes,. This impact was made possible through the sales of my Pepper Jellies. Thank you to everyone who purchased them this year!🌶️🧂
