Mark your calendars for Oct. 17 and get ready for an evening of lights along the Fox River.

The first Oswego Lantern Parade will bring participants from the Oswego Public Library to Hudson Crossing Park, where the evening continues with the Oswegoland Park District’s Night Market, featuring food, drinks, live music, local vendors and more.

Prefer to make your own lantern? Bring it along and get creative with your design. There are also two more opportunities to make one before the parade, including Fox Fall Fest on Oct. 4, while supplies last, and Oct. 17 from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. in the library parking lot. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Lantern Parade is brought to you by the Village of Oswego Cultural Arts Commission.

When farmers, millers, bakers, and distillers get together, great things happen! 🌾

And that’s exactly what took place when our farmer-owner Harold Wilken and his daughter, Janie’s Mill Operations Manager, Emily, attended the Artisan Grain Collaborative Barnstormer on September 18th at Thornton Distilling Co.. The event brought together farmers, bakers, millers, maltsters, distillers, and researchers to learn from each other and build the kind of relationships that create a more robust and vibrant Midwest grain value chain.

What Artisan Grain Collaborative has always recognized is that a strong regional grain economy is not built on information alone. It is built on the people who show up for each other, year after year. Being in a room full of those people is always a pleasure and a meaningful experience. 🙌

And of course, it’s always great to be in the company of Après Pastry & Bakery and Eli Quezada Duran - be sure to check them out! 🫶
