Well, Pay What You Crumb is getting a little more attention than usual this morning So if you’re new here, welcome!

I’m a small-town mom running a little pay-what-you-can farm stand in East Tennessee. I make things with my own hands, put a lot of love into what I do, and try to make things affordable for my community.
Sometimes running a small business means making hard decisions, taking losses, and figuring things out as you go. That’s exactly what I’m doing right now!
You won’t agree with every decision every small business owner makes, and that’s okay. But I’ll always do what I feel is right for my stand and the people who support it.

To everyone who’s supported me, shopped with me, shared my posts, or encouraged me along the way, THANK YOU. You have no idea how much it means to a little business like mine.

Unfortunately, the stand will be closed for the rest of this week due to the setback this morning. I’m not risking my products, so we’re looking into adding a screen door to keep anymore animals out. In the meantime, I also have to remake everything that was lost.

Another unexpected expense and another week without the stand open really sucks. 😅💗

Unfortunately, I had to throw away all of the food products at my stand today. 💔

I had a cat get into my farm stand, walk around in the baskets, and knock over a container. While everything appeared to be okay, I’m not willing to risk the safety of my customers over something like this. I’d rather take the loss myself than put anyone at risk.

I’m sharing the Ring camera footage because this has become a really frustrating situation. I’ve tried posting to find the owners, and I’m still trying to figure out a solution. I love animals, but I also have a small business to run, and I can’t afford to keep losing products because of this.

If you recognize this cat or know who it belongs to, please reach out to me privately. I’m not looking to start drama or cause problems with anyone. I just need help finding a solution.
I’ll be closed the rest of the week so I can disinfect and work on adding something to the stand to keep this from happening anymore.

I know it’s still fall, but this cooler weather has me feeling Christmasy already! 🎄 Christmas is the busiest time of year for my stand, so I’m starting to plan ahead!

I want to hear from y’all! What baked goods or Christmas treats do you remember from your childhood? Maybe it was your grandma’s homemade fudge, a special Christmas cookie, old-fashioned candy, a family recipe, or something you only ever got to eat around the holidays.

I’d love to try recreating some of those nostalgic treats for Pay What You Crumb this Christmas! There’s something special about food that brings back childhood memories, and I’d love to bring a little of that nostalgia to the stand this year.

Crock pot is definitely going strong the last few days haha I have about four more batches to make after today’s 😆 today I’m trying a caramel apple butter 👀 hoping to have it at the stand tomorrow if all goes well 🤞
