Why would you choose the Humble Larder when there are plenty of places a cake can be purchased less expensively? My cakes are based on wholesome ingredients. Flour, real butter, whole milk, sugar, eggs & baking powder. Don't assume private bakeries aren't using the same exact bagged cake mixes and tubs of frosting the supermarkets are using either. I worked in one as a teen. It was one in the same. I can tell immediately by tasting them. You need to specifically ask if the cake batter is made from scratch or from a mix. Same with the frosting. Ask.
What you'll never get from me-
"...the ingredient list is so long I literally had trouble keeping count – but it’s close to 80 ingredients! The majority of them are fake chemical fillers and food-like substances that are obviously not real food."

All I could think about was “Where am I going to get my birthday cake from!?!" This is a dilemma for my family and me every single time there is a birthday on the horizon. We sometimes have knock down, drag out fights about where we buy our cakes…and that's because not everyone in my family foll...

The scent of sugar and butter mixing together. The heady aroma of vanilla wafting up from the bowl.
The whole house filling with the smell of cookies as they bake.
I can also tell you when a cake is baked perfectly through by the smell alone.
Yes, part of the joy in baking for me is all about the aroma.

Making cupcakes is fun. Designing cupcakes with a very soon to be 3 year old is SUPER FUN!
Cute isn't it? This was entirely designed by my client. He was decisive and opinionated. An absolute pleasure to work with.
