A little note for everyone following along on my France trip: all is well! I am taking a few days away from posting about my trip in the Alsace region; but I am enjoying the trip and will have more photos and stories when I return for Paris early next week. In the meantime, just a friendly reminder we are closed this Friday and Saturday at the bakery and will reopen Friday September 25 at 8:00am.

Hoping to publish our afternoon tea and cooking class schedule this week.

We increased our steps to 7.5 miles today walking through many parts of Strasbourg. Experiencing the local market was a real treat. Due to the rain, the Brocante was non existent. We toured many pastry and coffee shops. Really looking forward to renting the car tomorrow and beginning my visit to the villages in the Alsace. Have a blessed day! Sheila Anne

Today was a travel day from Paris to Strasbourg so most of the morning was occupied with travel. Walked 5 miles in a half day in Petite France and the Cathedral area. A wonderful time of year to be here with not many tourists. I ended my day stopping at a wonderful fromagerie and had the most delicious cheese and jam. Grabbed a beautiful bouquet of flowers at the local fleurist. Tomorrow I will go to the local farmers market and visit the local brocante. Thank you for following along.

Heading to Strasbourg tomorrow by train and the Alsace region. Can’t wait to meet the people in the villages around Strasbourg. Looking forward to bringing back some famous jam from this region for all of you. Today I placed a tea order, had a yummy souffle, tried a mirabelle for the first time ever, walked and walked and attended a beautiful concert at St. Chapelle. St. Chapelle was built in 1248 by King Louis the IX to house the Crown of Thorns that Jesus wore. It is now at Notre Dame. Paris is building the infrastructure for the arrival of the Pope on the 25th and the Papal Mass on the Champs E’lysee. Thanks for following along.

This may be one of the most exciting parts of Sheila Anne. Last year we became an exclusive authorized dealer in Oklahoma for Mariage Freres ;however, due to international shipping constraints we were unable to order. Now shipping has opened up and I spent this morning in Paris ordering an amazing range of beautifully packaged looseleaf teas for sale and teas that we will brew at the Sheila Anne tea salon. The new product line is amazing. This will be a wonderful experience and offering.

A beautiful half day in Paris after arriving this morning. Hi lights from today include my long time friend Baptiste welcoming us on the Tracadero, a tour of Musee Marmottan Monet which houses the largest collection of Monet works in the world, then onto Luxembourg gardens for the Fete du Paris parade which gave me a historical lesson on what the French have worn over centuries. Then onto an afternoon tea honoring Marie Antoinette. Finally, watching the Olympic Balloon and Cauldron rise to finish the day.

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you will come by and show us a little love today. After today, the bakery will be closed until Friday September 25. Sheila Anne has been invited to a major tea house in France to view new products and we are making hundreds and hundreds of pie crusts for our popular Thanksgiving and Christmas Pie sales.
