True sourdough is an item we always have Friday after Friday.
True as in- no yeast added, no sugar added, traditional sourdough with three ingredients. That’s right- THREE. If you grab bread in the grocery that says “sourdough” and it has added yeast or sugar chances are it’s not real and will not have any benefits. It will be sourdough flavored and not actual traditional sourdough. That’s a hot topic online sometimes but that’s our standard and it’s why we cannot mix a loaf up in ten minutes. It’s also why our bread has no sugar and why it’s flavored so well.
Every single person and place will have bread that tastes different. It’s a product of its environment. Starters are all different. Temps, humidity, water quality, and even air quality and what the air is scented with play a part. You may love one persons bread and not another because of all of those factors.
It takes three days to make- 48 hour cold proof, long ferment, and all shaped by hand.
We use Hawaiian black salt so you’ll see a black swirl in all our bread.
We do a variety of bakes with darker and lighter crusts to suit anyone. Some people love a crisp crust and some don’t and we try to accommodate everyone. It’s perfect for sandwiches of any type, snacks, toast, garlic bread, charcuterie, croutons, it’s a blank canvas. It freezes well and thaws well.
