🥩What is Alpha-gal?
-Alpha-gal is a sugar molecule found in most mammals. The list includes but not limited to: beef, pork, rabbit, lamb, venison, etc. This also includes the by-products of these mammals including their milk, gelatin, bone, glycerin and more.

What is Alpha-gal syndrome?
-Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic condition where you are allergic to the Alpha-gal sugar molecules. AGS is also called Alpha-gal allergy, red meat allergy and tick bite meat allergy.
-AGS symptoms can vary. Skin reactions, swelling of body parts, shortness of breath and digestion issues are the most common.

As scary as it sounds, anyone can obtain AGS. It is associated with tick bites, and the increase of this allergy has increased over recent times.

If you find that you are suddenly experiencing extreme changes in your physical health especially after consuming read meat products, contact your doctor immediately. Individualized care decisions are required.
