The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of just about everything - record sales, market cancellations, a little getaway, being featured on the news, and the loss of someone we love dearly. So much life packed into such a short amount of time.
Our hearts are heavy, but they’re also incredibly full. It’s a strange feeling, but one that feels like a pretty accurate picture of life itself - the highs and lows often arriving hand in hand.
This week, we say goodbye to Mike. While not family by blood, he was family in every way that truly matters. If you swipe through, you’ll see a throwback photo from one of his birthdays years ago with us and his kids - one of countless memories we’ll always treasure. Mike was one of those people with a personality you never forget. He was incredibly generous and always willing to lend a helping hand, funny, full of energy, stubborn at times, and loved his family and friends fiercely. The last few years brought him more than his fair share of challenges, yet he handled them with a lot of strength. He rarely complained and always showed up for the people he loved. We will miss him dearly.
And to Helen (his wife), thank you. The love, dedication, and strength you’ve shown through it all have been nothing short of inspiring. Over the years, you’ve carried so much with such grace, and your unwavering faith through every challenge has been a beautiful example to everyone around you. You are truly one of the strongest women I know, and we love you so very much!!
Moments like these have a way of putting everything into perspective. They remind us how precious life is and how grateful we are for the people who walk alongside us through it all. We’re incredibly thankful for all of your support week after week, and for helping us make this dream possibile. And thank you again to for having us on this past weekend and allowing us to share our story and bakery - it was truly such an honor!
Life has a way of reminding us to hold our people a little closer, celebrate the good when it comes, and never take a single day for granted. In the words of Mike, “what you gonna do”. 🤍
