We've been lucky to have so many talented, beautiful people pass through the bakery who wanted to play music. We love our bands, whether they're local or touring. Hosting shows is kinda our favorite thing (I've worked more doubles than you can count just to stay for a show). Whether you're indie, punk, or metal, I'm gonna miss making grilled cheeses n bagels for all of u.
Shows have been a major priority for us over the past few months. We've opened up the bakery after hours to allow musicians a rehearsal space, housed bands needing a place to crash between your stops, and I've personally spent many nights keeping your equipment safe from bakery gremlins when you've had to leave it overnight.
If we've ever had to chase you down to pay a cover, yelled at you in the parking lot, or yanked the traffic cones out of your hands to re-cover the outlets, it was always for good reason. Someone said to me last night that it was wild how "Belhaven, of all places, became this safe haven for hardcore music." I don't have videos from the hardcore shows (RIP my phone speaker every time I tried to record them) so tag us in your pictures and videos and we'll share em to the stories ๐
