There is very little I won’t do for food. 🍔
Same with this masked bandit…he has a great sense of smell and will go to great lengths to get a tasty meal/treat.

Here are some ideas to keep these guys out of your bins:

• keep all food in garbage bags (throw items like to-go boxes and other loose food items in a kitchen drawstring bag).

• soak a paper towel with ammonia and put it on top of your garbage, just under the lid, at night.

• put bleach in a spray bottle and spray your can and around your can. Raccoon’s strong noses cannot stand the strong odor.

• Other scents that can be deterrents are Cayenne pepper, mothballs and Epsom salt to name a few.

I don’t remove these critters from your cans but I can definitely get your cans sparkling clean and smelling fantastic…hopefully keeping them at bay.
