Never underestimate what God can do with what’s already in your hands.
So often, I feel like I lack the resources to help others at the capacity I truly desire. I catch myself wrestling with two contrasting thoughts: “I want God to use me,” right alongside “Is what I have to offer really enough?”
That second thought always tries to stop me in my tracks.
When I feel this way, I’m reminded of the widow in 2 Kings 4. Facing overwhelming debt, she told the prophet Elisha she had nothing in her home except a small jar of olive oil. On its own, one jar seemed completely insignificant. But in faith, she gathered empty jars from her neighbors and began to pour. God multiplied her small offering until every single jar was filled to the brim—the oil only stopped when the jars ran out.
God doesn't ask us to have everything; He just asks us to bring what we have.
Today, this platform is my jar of oil, and my heart is to serve children in need through Cakes and Kicks for Kids. This incredible nonprofit provides brand-new shoes and custom birthday cakes to homeless and displaced children—simple joys many of them have never experienced before.
If you feel like you only have a "single jar" to give, I invite you to bring it to the table. Whether it’s $1 or $100, every little bit matters when God gets involved.
